James Thomas

Managing Director

Hi, I’m James Thomas, the Managing Director of Graft. With over 20 years experience in the rail and civil sectors, I’ve had the pleasure of working on a wide variety of projects, from small-scale jobs to multi-million-pound contracts. In my role, I oversee all operations, making sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently.

My journey in this field has taught me a lot about the complexities and challenges of rail and civil engineering projects. I’m passionate about getting great results and truly enjoy seeing our hard work pay off. I hold very high standards for quality and expect the same from my team. Leading a talented group, I focus on planning, safety, delivery and reliability, ensuring we always go above and beyond for our clients.

When I’m not at work, I love spending time with my wife and our five kids. We enjoy weekends away, exploring new places, and creating lasting memories together. Family time is incredibly important to me; it keeps me balanced and motivated.

I’m really proud of what we’ve achieved at Graft and I’m excited about the future as we continue to grow and succeed.
